Redentore in Venice: July’s main event since XVI century

The event of Redentore in Venice is the gretaest celebration of the city.

Every year since 1577 the city of Venice celebrates the end of the plague of pestilence that stroke the community.

In this occasion a long bridge of barges was set to connect San Marco and Giudecca, allowing the Doge to walk in procession to island.

Today the event of Redentore still keeps Its tradition so, every third saturday and sunday of July, the city celebrates It. If you are planning your trip to Venice in this month It definetly worth a visit.

Main event schedule for 2019 Redentore

Saturday July 20: the barges bridge to Giudecca will open at 7.00 Pm, and the fireworks show will start at 11.30Pm.

Tip: consider to watch the fireworks show from the island of Lido; It will surely be less crowded and the view of Venice will be amazing.

Sunday July 21st: from 4.00 Pm untill 7.00Pm boats regattas in Giudecca’s canal.
